Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Saucepan
  • Pudding molds or ramekins
  • Steamer or large pot with a lid

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup toffee bits
  • ¾ cup water boiling

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, pinch salt
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
1/2 cup whole milk, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry until well combined.
  • Stir in the toffee bits until evenly distributed.
    1/2 cup toffee bits
  • Divide the batter among the pudding molds or ramekins.
  • Pour the boiling water over the batter, dividing it evenly among the molds.
    3/4 cup water
  • Cover the molds with foil and place them in the steamer or large pot. Cover with a lid and steam for about 20 minutes, or until the puddings are set.
  • Carefully remove the molds from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the pudding warm, garnished with additional toffee bits or a scoop of ice cream, if desired.
    1/2 cup toffee bits

Notes

Be sure to pour the boiling water over the batter - this creates a self-saucing effect, resulting in a moist and creamy pudding.
You can also add chocolate chips or nuts to the pudding for added texture and flavor.
