Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak sliced into thin strips
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 green onions sliced

Instructions
 

  • Toss the flank steak strips in the cornstarch and set aside.

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  • Add the beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger and cook for about a minute.

  • Add the soy sauce, water, and brown sugar to the skillet, stirring to combine.

  • Return the beef to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
  • Sprinkle with green onions before serving.
